Height & Weight: 5 ft. 4 in. (162 cm) / 120 lbs. (54 kg)

Appearance: At a quick glance, Kin is a short, light-skinned woman with a lithe build. Her feminine figure is subtle, with not much to flaunt. Rather, she has some modest muscle, toned by years of training.
In general, she has soft and friendly facial features, leaning more towards cute than beautiful. However, her narrow eyes and thin lips lend themselves well for impish grins. She never wears makeup of any kind. Her sandy blond hair is usually an unruly, spiky mess, aside from two long locks she braids together below her neck.
When it comes to clothing, she prefers subtle, dark outfits that promote stealth. Her favorite one is a black, sleeveless jumpsuit that hugs her figure. It has a hood with white patterns, resembling the head of a snake. The jumpsuit also features a thick fabric tail in the shape of an arrow, which doubles as a big pouch for scrolls. For accessories, she likes to wear various bracelets and other subtle sorts of jewelry.
As distinct identifying marks, she has twin tattoos resembling stylized snakes wrapping around her arms. Her skin and clothing are rarely clean, often stained with traces of oil and dirt from tinkering. The murky grime has even painted her nails black.

Kin is gifted at acting, pretending and especially lying. Her heart and body play along, masking the signs of deception. - C-rank: Flexible Figure
Much like puppets, or snakes, Kin is far more flexible than an average human. Her limbs bend far beyond their usual range of motion. This allows her to contort herself into odd positions and squeeze through tight gaps. Most grabs, holds and joint locks are ineffective against her. - B-rank: Expert Engineer
Kin is an undeniably talented builder with skills to handle many kinds of materials. Her specialty is crafting lifelike puppets and cramming them full of elaborate internal mechanisms. As a result, her creations are much harder to jam or break than soulless mass-production puppets. - A-rank: -

History
Backstory:
Born to a long, but rather unremarkable line of puppeteers, Kin has always been a black sheep in more ways than one. The Hara family was widely known for being strict and traditional, humorless even, never overstepping their boundaries or striving for too much. So it had always been and so it should always remain. Or something along those lines. Thus the elders wanted a young prodigy who would follow that ideal. What they got instead was a bright-eyed dreamer with a clear vision and a strange sense of humor.
Where the family focused on efficient killer puppets that got the job done by any means necessary, Kin was far more interested in crafting beautiful dolls. When the family mixed poisons, Kin practiced sewing. While others sharpened their blades, the girl tinkered with mechanical gimmicks And so forth. To her, puppet engineering was a forgotten form of art, meant to astonish and inspire. Her parents hoped it would be a mere phase. Surely in time she would grow up to be a responsible kunoichi and continue the family tradition.
Hah, as if.
True enough, the girl absorbed knowledge like a sponge, but her vision never faded. To bring back the art of doll crafting. As Kin’s experience and skills kept growing, her creations got more and more elaborate. They started gaining human-like qualities, internal mechanisms and other needless trickery not at all fitting for killing machines. Suggestions were met with flippant comments. Warnings fell to deaf ears. Scolding proved futile. The family was running out of options. And patience...
Kin’s time as a Genin was rather brief. Her team was... dysfunctional to say the least, much to the puppeteer’s personal amusement. She certainly didn't make their life any easier. It was a small miracle they managed to put their differences aside for long enough to get through the Chūnin exams. Perhaps it was simply the desire to advance that pushed them forward. She left the exams with a new rank and no puppet. It's a long story. Lots of internal bleeding and a bottled up grudge against katon users.
The rest of the Hara family still wasn’t impressed. Quite the opposite, actually. Building Tsukkomi, a puppet with no hidden weaponry and thus minimal kill potential, was the famous last straw. The family unceremoniously disowned the disobedient daughter and cut all ties to her. Success in the Chūnin exams weighed nothing in the face of the blatant disrespect. Kin would always be the black sheep of the Hara family.
Following the spat with the family, the miffed prankster snapped. She went on a prank spree bordering on terrorism. Family wealth and secrets were stolen. People were publicly humiliated. Some buildings were left in an unlivable condition or even demolished completely. It took months to clean up the mess. As a result, she was justifiably branded a criminal.
Ever since, Kin has lived alone in an old, abandoned workshop, surrounded by blueprints and spare parts. She has spent the past few years perfecting her craft. ...And waiting for the heat to die down. Occasionally she ventured out to steal supplies and to play tricks on anyone unfortunate enough to cross her path.
Nowadays, the notorious prankster pursues her passions across the lands, wandering wherever her curiosity takes her. The flame from her childhood continues to burn bright. One day she will bring back the true art of puppetry. One day. In the meantime, she tirelessly seeks the one thing she has yearned for ever since learning to control her first puppet... Entertainment.
Personality:
Kin is living proof that some people never grow up. She absolutely loves playing games, causing disorder and generally poking fun at anything that catches her eye. If things get dull or depressing, she’s the first one to try and stir up something amusing.
Free-spirited and playful by nature, it’s uncommon for her to take anything or anyone truly seriously. She is friendly, energetic and quite informal around anyone, regardless of rank or affiliation. Only the most universally respected ninja can demand and get formal and respectful treatment, though even then she prefers to remain laid-back.
Despite the undeniably carefree and sometimes fairly immature behavior, Kin isn't naive or slow by any means. Beneath the smiles and laughter, she is a clever, deceitful and gleeful agent of chaos. She’ll use any means necessary to get what she wants.
In combat, the puppeteer’s devious traits rise to the surface. What others call fighting dirty, she calls fighting smart. Low blows, psychological warfare and exhaustion tactics are important parts of her arsenal. She regards honor and fair play as amusing little notions invented by sore losers.
Her style, if one could call it that, is all about wreaking havoc until no one knows what will happen next. However, she deeply dislikes bloodshed and prefers to leave her enemies alive if at all possible. It’s like a game to her, seeing how much madness her opponent can handle before surrendering. Dead people can't play games after all.
Puppet engineering is Kin’s greatest passion. She can spend days, even weeks working on a project. Eating and sleeping may be forgotten from time to time. Her dream is to bring back puppetry as a famous and beloved form of art.
This passion extends to other people and their creations as well. She gets smitten over displays of engineering brilliance, even when it’s a matter of falling into an enemy trap. Fellow puppeteers will immediately count as her best friends. ...Alliances and personal feelings be damned.
All in all, Kin is a light-hearted trickster who constantly craves fun and entertainment.

RP Sample:
Near the border of the Wilds and the Moon Village, in the heart of a leafy forest, stood a lonely building. It looked like a giant brick, with vines and leaves spreading across it like a green infection. Not a single window was intact.
Once upon a time, it had been a mighty workshop with its very own warehouse. It had served the villages of the Moon and the Eclipse valiantly for many years. But progress marched on and eventually nature claimed what humans no longer wanted. Overgrown and long forgotten, it now blended into its surroundings flawlessly.
In other words, it was the perfect hiding spot~!
Sunlight filtering through the lush leaves found a broken skylight. The gentle glow peeked inside like a soft spotlight. Something stirred in the murky darkness below. A soft shuffle was followed by a long yawn. Golden eyes blinked open, taking a moment to adjust.
A closer look revealed a lean woman slumped over a huge workbench. Underneath her face was a blueprint for something quite complicated. ...Well, most of it. Some had been smudged by drool and rubbed against her cheek. Oh well, no biggie~!
The sleepy woman stretched her whole body and scratched her messy, blonde hair idly. Quietly she wondered what time it was, before deciding it was way too early. She had never been a morning person and she wasn’t about to start now.
Next to the blueprint was a messy stack of folders and papers. On the very top of the pile was a newspaper from a couple of weeks back. The piece of sensationalist gossip trash had been left open on the only interesting article. It was titled ‘How the Smiling Snake Died’.
The shady stranger glanced at the paper and a sharp smile crept across her features. Funny how her nickname tended to pop up in the weirdest places. Even funnier was how these stupid story spinners could get something totally wrong in only five words~!
Unfortunately, any plots to prove those dummies wrong were promptly interrupted by a long, whiny groan. The criminal clutched her gut weakly. Her stomach loudly protested the fact that she had skipped dinner last night. Aaaand lunch...
Reluctantly the hungry trickster rose from her worn down stool. She tiptoed around the piles of parts and scrap metal that littered the murky hall. Some would’ve called the place messy, but she preferred to call it cozy. Not to mention cheap. Zero upkeep costs suited her poor wallet just fine.
At the other end of the hall was something vaguely resembling living quarters. It did have a single bed, a table and a food cabinet at least. Speaking of food, she reached inside and pulled out a brick of wheat that had once been bread. She knocked it against the table and actually scratched the wood.
Right. She was going to need a sharper knife.
With a heavy sigh, the trickster went to rummage through her drawers. Even now, the imaginary gears were turning, churning ideas like sparks. Perhaps today she would pay her dear home village a visit. Do some shopping, meet some folks and blow something up. Sounded like fun. First, some breakfast...
Then, some chaos~!
