The Feral Fens A fairly large region beneath the Wilds and above the Akuma Territory. The area is more than 600 miles long and one singular river-crossed wetland. Some areas are solid but wet land, other places the land feels spongy, and still more threatening are the places which seem like solid land but are really deep, cold pools of water. The water is too acidic to drink, shocking for all but the most strange plants and animals. With few places to stand still, few places to hide, the bones jutting out from the watery plant life show the Fens to be little more than a poorly hidden graveyard.

The Wilds The broad area to the north west of the continent is known as The Wilds. The Wilds is much what it sounds like. Isolated groups of people who fled the early wars and chose not to join any of the villages wound up here. They make their survival in robust tree homes with rope bridges and rustic inventions which trap animals for food and collect rainwater. They have no technology and have avoided contact with the Villages, but it is no secret that there are people who live here in various small communities. Grassland and fish filled rushing rivers blend into deciduous forests where every season can be experienced. The vibrant colors of autumn leaves entice some to visit, but usually the people here are left alone, as they desire. Deer, moose, rabbits, snakes, owls and hawks are all common sights. It is the only region known for herds of wild horses.

The Brig The Brig is a place that is known for its almost daily thunderstorms. This coastal jungle is struck by more lightning than anywhere else in the world. The region is usually dense with clouds, especially around dawn and dusk, and the heat and moisture from the ocean bring storms of minor and major quality. There are dozens of broken ship parts on shore and more wrecks in the tide all around the area. The Brig is dangerous and nobody is known to live there, though some shinobi travel here to practice their own threatening jutsu. There aren’t many animals in this region, but those that remain have unique adaptations to deal with the consistent storms and yellow eyes which glow in the darkness.

Devil's Lake This enormous freshwater lake is divided into several regions; the two most renowned being Angler Point and Angler Shallows. The Shallows are a great fishing area and are nestled against the land of the Eclipse village. The water here is safe for fishing, bird watching, swimming and boating. Angler Point is the section of north west lake within Akuma Territory. There are stories of people brave enough to go there and fish for the rarest and largest of Devil’s Lake fish. There are more stories of people who never made it back. It is regarded as a fool’s errand and even experienced boatmen will laugh at the idea of going there. The main pool of the lake hovers over the Land of the Departed. Though less frightening than the Point, rumors of ghost boatmen and lake monster tales keep plenty away.
